BREAKTHROUGH DESIGNATION FOR LINK TOOL SYSTEM--
TOOLS RECEIVE “Q-MARK” FOR QUALITY AND ERGONOMICS
Chicago, IL….Link Tools, the first major innovation in hand
tools in the last several decades, has become the first tool system to receive
a “Q-Mark” from TÜV
Rheinland, one of Europe’s premiere professional approval organizations. Wherever
the “Q-Mark” is awarded, it
signifies that a product has met standards of superior quality and versatility. In
the case of the Link Tool system, it was also awarded for ergonomic excellence.
The testing procedure for ergonomics requires that the
product meet five basic principles i.e, usability, suitability for tasks,
self-descriptiveness (clear instructions), conformity with the user’s
expectations, controllability and error tolerance. Quality
determinations are equally rigorous.
TÜV has provided International Approvals Services for global companies for many years. Its
service includes details on national approval systems, mandatory requirements,
required documents, factory inspections and test samples.
According to John Davidson, president of Link Tools, sustained
use of conventional hand tools can lead to chronic stress on the muscles,
nerves and skeletal system.
“The design of Link Tools lessens the toll taken on the human frame,” says Davidson. He
points out that stress brought about by repetitive action is frequently a cause
of disability or missed work because of pain.
The long term use of Link Tools is expected to lead to
enhanced employee health in all
professions which demand recurring motion, prolonged use of tools or extended
reach.
“This should directly benefit workers in all repair, assembly and maintenance operations,” according to Davidson.
The use of Link Tools has already dramatically increased in
certain key industries because of Link’s unique “no dropped sockets” guarantee
which results in increased
efficiency as well less damage to machinery. Link Tools are the first tool system which feature an automatic locking
system. All Link Tools instantly
lock together with a one-handed push, functioning like a solid tool from hand
to work. The tools remain locked
together until the user pushes the lock to disconnect them.
The Link Tool system includes all individual drive tools
plus 41 piece 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch sets and a versatile, 10 piece Homeowner
set. The Link system has been cited as outstanding by
Popular Mechanics, Round Bobbin (sewing machines), Sailing, Old
House and AAA Motorist as well as several other diverse publications.
